WEWOOD PORTUGUES JOINERY — Catalogue 01.2018

“The Museum of Vibrant Matter, asks us to pay attention and attune to our local biological, technical, and hybrid materialities as an act of care towards ourselves, other living things, our soils, water, and geology. Encourages us to adopt radical, yet humble, attitudes beyond anthropo-supremacy so we can collectively design preferable material futures that regenerate us, our communities, and our terrestrial/ aquatic/ marine habitats.

The exhibition draws on cultural memories and new material experiments to re-activate our sensorial knowledge and other knowledge about our local materials. Material memories and new experiments will be exhibited, demonstrating material practices and co-constructing a living Archive of Vibrant Matter with designers, local experts, and citizens.”

MODÌ — Gelateria Italiana 06.2015

Renovation project of an interior space, developed for an homemade ice cream parlour.
The space, about 70 mq, which previously hosted a surf shop, has been re-designed following the needs of the new business. Being a homemade ice cream parlour with its own craft production, the concept developed in this project was to enhance the importance of the productive laboratory, by creating glass divisions that allowed to separate the selling section from the productive one, giving the customer the opportunity to watch the processing-steps of the finished product.
The tiles (portugues azulejos) chosen to cover the wall that runs through the two spaces, characterize the environment with their irregular shape, recalling the concept of craftsmanship, and together with the light-blue linoleum floor, reinforce the idea of a fresh, clean and almost industrial space.
